Our new open staircase :) All of the wood paneling is gone! Oh, and all of the spots on the camera - actually dust.

This is wallpaper that has fake green brick on it. Kevin said it was the original backsplash for the stove. Apparently real bricks didn't look as good as fake green ones.
Steps leading into the basement. The front bedroom which will be the master bedroom.
The steps will be moved towards the back of the house a shade, the tread needs to be longer and they need to be a bit wider.
Kevin counted 11 sheets of wallpaper in the bathroom.
And yes, this is a pink bear riding a blue rocketship. I tried to cut it out of the wall, but it wanted to stay and die in the house with the rest of the awful wall coverings.
The master bedroom with the sloped ceiling (we are keeping it sloped).
Our roof access...until the rooftop deck goes in!
Our skylight - which will remain (not the original, but one similar).
Hopefully the basement start soon. Now comes some of our first choices on the house...our front door (wood with 4 windows at the top) and windows (wood with black trim, for the tax credit...).
As the progress in the house moves along, i'm starting to realize the closer it is to the wedding...I need to get more prepared!!!

Have you found anything cool left behind? Like the pink bear riding the rocket. Any papers or pennys, treasure? Maybe the contractor has a nice collection after rehabing these old places. How did find this place? A regular agent or internet hunt?
ReplyDeleteWe have been scowering Canton for the past year, put a few bids in on houses, but always got denied. Our realtor found it and we went through an awful process to get it, but finally it became ours. We haven't found anything overly cool, but we did have a HUGE boiler in the basement that was pretty awesome. We kept the plate off the front and that will pretty much be the only thing that will remain in that house :)
